Refreshments available from the restaurant

Located on the outskirts of Fenny Stratford and just of the A5, Dobbies is really easy to get to and has great parking facilities.  You can even have your car cleaned while you are here.

The conservatory at Dobbies is a great place to ready with it’s comfortable tub chairs and loads of light.  If you are used to visiting at weekend you may think that it’s going to be a little on the busy side as the conservatory is also home to the children’s play area but we’ve chosen 5-6pm carefully as the children have normally gone home by then.  The timing is perfect for anyone looking to unwind with a book after a busy day in the office.  Just grab yourself a few moments of peace before heading home.

Reading Room Setup

The conservatory is right at the back of the building on the left hand side and you get to it by passing through the restaurant.  This is where you can get your refreshments and there’s a wide range of drinks and snacks available.  The choice is yours and this is the only charge at this venue.  This is not a sole use venue so there may be other customers enjoying the conservatory and the music will be playing.  The timing for the pop-up reading room has been chosen carefully though and it is unlikely that it will be noisy at this time.

Top Tip

Dobbies Milton Keynes, pop-up reading room, You and a BookNot only do you get to read at Dobbies but there is also the opportunity to top up your book supplies.  The main book section is just behind the house plants and includes novels, history, children’s, cooking and gardening books.  There is also a selection which is mainly 2 for £5 novels, this moves around the store depending on the season.  There’s also a table full of second hand books by the noticeboard and toilets.  These are being sold to raise money for the Dobbies charity of the year (The Teenage Cancer Trust) and at £1 for a hardback and 50p for paperbacks it’s hard to resist the temptation.  Check that you have some change in your pocket before you head off.  This is a great example of the focus that Dobbies places on supporting the local community.  You can find out more on their noticeboard.
